be a reflection

After waking up Friday night with the bright moon shining in our eyes, I determined I'd close the big curtains in our bedroom at bedtime last night. Ah ha! I woke up during the night and the bedroom was light again, but nothing as intense as the night before. I got up to go to the bathroom and figured out where that light was coming from....the windows on the opposite side of the bedroom, you know, the side where the moon wasn't hanging out. What was happening was my husband's metal work garage located across the yard and driveway was reflecting the moon's light right into our bedroom windows.

God's light does shine quite brightly in our lives. Sometimes we bask in it - if it is in the form of warm sunshine - and sometimes we are annoyed by it and the conviction it brings into our lives - like the full moon interrupting our sleep. Frequently we are drawn to the reflecting light from the Son when it shows up in the form of a fellow believer who comes alongside to encourage, love, support, and even sometimes exhort us. It does seem that the reflections from others varies according to their relationship with the Son. They may be bright after years of walking with the Lord or they may flicker back and forth as they figure out who this Jesus is who just entered their lives. Our hope as believers is to continue to develop our relationship with God so that we may be worthy reflections of Him wherever we go.

"Let your light shine shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in heaven." ~ Matthew 5:16

Have a blessed Sunday reflecting the Son in your garden!

Blessings,
