those tests

"The tests of life are to make, not break us. Trouble may demolish a man's business but build up his character. The blow at the outward man may be the greatest blessing to the inner man. If God, then, puts or permits anything hard in our lives, be sure that the real peril, the real trouble, is what we shall lose if we flinch or rebel." ~ Maltbie D. Babcock

Our human minds would like to think that as believers in Jesus Christ our lives would be without difficulty. But if that were the case, our faith would soon dwindle and we would have no need for God. Instead we are faced with some incredibly difficult tests of life which bring us down to some very low points. The benefit of that is there is only one place to look and that is UP. Up to our Savior. As we look up, the burden falls down. Conflict is replaced by the peace found only in God.

As one who can testify to kicking and screaming at God a bit in my early days, I've learned that rebellion against Him only prolongs the tests of life He has so graciously provided to built my faith. It's taken me many years, but I *think* I've learned to look UP a lot quicker now. It is so much easier to let go and work WITH Him rather than against Him.

Whatever you may be facing on this day, know that God is on your side. Just keep your eyes UP!

Blessings,
