cease meddling

"Cease meddling with God's plans and will. You touch anything of His, and you mar the work. You may move the hands of a clock to suit you, but you do not change the time; so you may hurry the unfolding of God's will, but you harm and do not help the work. You can open a rosebud but you spoil the flower. Leave all to Him. Hands down. Thy will, not mine." ~ Stephen Merritt

Perhaps this is one of the hardest lessons to learn as a parent and I'm not certain that we ever really learn it. It is especially challenging as our children mature into young adults. Knowing when we should step in or when we should stay out. Hindsight now shows me when my interference has perhaps marred or slowed down God's work.

Wisdom. I need wisdom. Lots of it!

My new main devotional for the year is based on Proverbs. Just reading the first chapter of Proverbs verses one through seven lays the principles of wisdom and the necessity of wisdom. It reminded me of a little construction paper sign I had up in our schoolhouse in the early years: "Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom!" ~ Proverbs 4:7a

May this be a wisdom growing year ahead!

Blessings,
Tammy ~@~
