my camp girl

Last Saturday afternoon after watching her brother's LONG baseball game, we dropped our daughter off at camp for the week. Does she look excited to say good-bye to us and hello to camp? :-D

She had gone to camp for her first time last year and came home with an address list of new friends who she wrote back and forth with throughout the year. Since she was one of the younger ones last year, most of the girls she knew would not be back to the same camp session but were moving up. After talking to friends at church this spring, she found that they wouldn't be able to go either. So we talked a bit about going to camp this summer and probably not knowing anyone again. Well, look at her face...didn't seem to bother her one bit!

Having had campers before, I know the routine when we pick them up. They'll talk non-stop all the drive home with camp stories galore, unpack all their grungy stuff as we walk through the door at home, and then they'll crash on their beds for the rest of the day :-) Ah, yes, could there be anything sweeter when you're a kid?!

Time to do a girls bedroom check before we leave to go and get her this morning as the younger sisters have had a party in that room all week long with the commander-in-chief gone! LOL!

Have a great Friday in your garden!

I'll bet she was missed!

I went to Honeyrock one year.
It is Wheaton College's camp in Eagle River.
I loved it.

Welcome home little camper!!!
