tapping into the bedrock

"The knowledge that God has loved me to the uttermost, to the end of all my sin and meanness and selfishness and wrong, will send me forth into the world to love in the same way. God's love to me is inexhaustible, and I must love others from the bedrock of God's love to me." ~ Oswald Chambers

Can we even begin to comprehend God's love for us? The enormity of it? Thinking about God's love always brings me to these verses:

"I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God." ~ Ephesians 3:16-19

My faith in Jesus Christ gives me a bedrock to be rooted and established in LOVE. There is no limit to His love. None. And that love is mine. Not only is there more than enough love for me to show to my family who are easy to love....well, most of the time!....but God's love will and should overflow into the lives of others. Especially into the lives of those who don't know God's love, but are possibly in situations of needing it most.

Is that what we see happening in today's culture? In the world of ME? Even amongst Christians?

Ohhhh, what a difference we can make in today's world as we show love beyond ourselves and our families to those who need to know God's love! No need to do it on our own, but through the bedrock of God's love that is rooted and established in our lives. It's all about Him working through us. In love.
