and so we begin

Although books may have already been opened a bit over the past couple of weeks, today was our first official day of homeschooling for this school year.

The students ranged from a very excited first grader to sleepy high schoolers and everything in between.

My intention is always to continue our morning devotional time through the summer, but somehow that fades as the days pass and everyone does those own devotional time. So it felt wonderful to once again open our Bibles together this morning. And God's Word once again did not disappoint. We picked up in the Old Testament where we last read at the end of the school year....Second Chronicles chapter 31....a chapter which ended with the following verses:

"This is what Hezekiah did throughout Judah, doing what was good and right and faithful before the LORD his God. In everything that he undertook in the service of God's temple and in obedience to the law and the commands, he sought his God and worked wholeheartedly. And so he prospered." ~ Second Chronicles 31:20-21

Aren't those wonderful verses to ponder when you have a whole school year stretching out before you? Do you have favorite verses to encourage you as you begin a new school year?

May we, like Hezekiah, seek out God and work wholeheartedly doing what is good and right and faithful before our God! And may our schoolwork prosper from doing so!

Blessings,
Tammy ~@~

P.S. Summer lingers here as does our garden work, so our first day of school involved not only books but bean picking and cutting for canning!
